Atlus Inc. has announced that it has gotten the publishing rights for its new game title called Hammerin’ Hero in North America. It’s basically an arcade-style, old school side-scrolling beat ‘em up game that is going to hit the PSP soon. The game brings you Gen, the popular game character that loves justice and is a carpenter by profession. Your role in the game is to help him fight against Hyosuke Kuromoku and his evil construction company as they are planning to throw out Gen’s neighbors from their homes.
The main attraction of this game is that it breaks boredom. Gen will take up several jobs during the adventure. You will see him acting as a Baseball player (but without playing baseball in depth like in the Bigs game) in one round and in another round he will become a DJ . The keeps the player excited during the game play because they have to master a new type of skills every time. The game is lengthy enough to keep you engaged. The whole adventure is spread across 12 different stages with each stage throwing a unique and tougher challenge in front of Gen. But if you use his hammer in the right way then the Hyosuke Kuromoku and his evil construction company is bound to get destroyed.
The Hamemrin’ Hammer will offer you a comic type adventure and has been rated as E10+, i.e. it can be played by every child whose age is 10 years or above. The game voices are available in English as well as in Japanese. As you take on different jobs including Baseball player, driver, chef, DJ etc. you will get new costumes and some enhanced attacking powers. Another attraction of the game is it supports Ad-Hoc multiplayer game play. Two players can play together to compete for the best score on each level. As you precede trough different levels you will also get chance to make allies in battle, collect lots of items and unlock two more playable characters.
