Xiaolin Showdown is definitely a treat to all those who enjoyed the Xiaolin Showdown animated television series on Saturday mornings. The story is about three students Raimundo, Kimiko and C lay and their monk Omi who teaches them Xiaolin a martial arts form. These four people get into the mission of protecting the Shen Gong Wu a mysterious object which gives the possessor super powers to conquer this universe. The objectives of these characters are to secure them from a villain evil boy genius Jack Spicer, his robots and the ancient witch Wuya.
Xiaolin Showdown has two modes Adventure and Showdown mode. In the adventure the players have to fight countless number of robots, who come chasing you everywhere you go. In this mode players can collect power ups and coins, which appear at random places. And if you are lucky enough you can even grab one of them if you reach at the right time. In the showdown mode of Xiaolin Shodown, which is the most interesting mode, the whole world turns into a mystical world and our little heroes and their master had to battle it out with the villains to sustain the Shen Gong Wu. They fight with their martial arts prowess, wits and with the powers Shen Gong Wu.
Shen Gong Wu can be charged up with the spheres the players collect by destroying their enemies. Each sphere the players collects has different powers, the most common one being the stun power which enables players to stun their enemies and beat them up. Between robots of same kind gives rise to same kind of Shen Gong Wu spheres. At the end of one level the players can equip themselves with different kind of Shen Gong Wu powers which a great advantage.
With 18 levels and 12 arenas this game is definitely a boon to the gamers who look for variety. The controls gives the option of functions like jumping, hitting, punching, etc apart from the super powers of icing enemies, whirlwinds, firestorms given by Shen Gong Wu spheres. In short, Xiaolin Showdown is about powering up, placing few stunts and using items in the right time.
