Gamers all over the world have always been fascinated by flight games and first person shooters. Historical warfare now comes to PSP from Cowboy Rodeo and Graffiti Entertainment. Air Conflict: Aces of World War II is an exciting game which takes players through 240 missions from seventeen cockpits.

As a player, play in one of the campaigns or match up to the host of players in the ad-hoc multiplayer mode. If you play solo, you get to name your pilot and also select a country to fly for. The game captures most of the features included in the original Air Conflicts PC version. A player’s faction choices include the US Air Force, USSR, Luftwaffe the German Air Force and the British Royal Air Force.

Each country features various campaigns. You can also go through the training process which will equip you with skills on using the controls. For instance, you can learn how to drop bombs with the help of the Square button, how to shoot rockets using the Triangle and how to successfully operate the machine guns with the X Button. However, as you take part in the missions and destroy planes, you are provided with new planes and new missions without having to go back and replay the unsuccessful mission.

In the interesting bombing runs, use the D-Pad to tap and obtain a lower view. Limited number of bombs at your disposal forces you to handle the encampments that are ground based using machine guns and missiles. Have fun chasing your enemies around. Visuals seem to be mediocre. The ground textures especially are blocky and bland. HUD features a speed tracker, compass, radar and a damage gauge. Text display with comments and story synopsis is too small and hurts the eye.

The games musical score is a bit odd and out of line. In spite of its various flaws Air Conflicts might capture the flight and war game enthusiasts. Releasing on 15th March, this game supports the game sharing feature. Dog fighting is sure to provide excitement too. PSP fans can expect this game very soon in the stores. Enjoy fun fighting air battles on your favourite PlayStation Portable.
