This is a simulation game which comes with steep learning curve. The PSP game features a lot of parameters and parts. The giant fighting robot can be customized and pitted against your friends as you play the multiplayer option.
Awesome firepower and metal is what comes to our mind when we start playing Armored Core: Formula Front Extreme Battle. This game from publishers 505 Games plays surprisingly well on the handheld. This game is in depth with a mech management filled with heavy stats.
As a player, you are in charge of a rookie team. The team consists of armored core or AC units numbering five. In order to equip yourself to square off with other mechs in the Formula Front, a futuristic sport, you assemble these AC units and tune them like an architect. As a player, you find yourself spending most of your time in the garage assembling the units with various parts and weapons.
You have to keep in mind various aspects as you build your robot. These include the mobility, heat, weight and energy output. One of the funnest parts of Armored Core: Formula Front - Extreme Battle is balancing the six different AC unit stats. Weapon targeting and radar disruption can be used to resist electronic countermeasures for the AC unit such as the cooling, energy supply, mobility, defensive power, attack power and VS ECM. By balancing all these effectively, it is possible to obtain an overall good rating.
It is possible to tune each AC unit for a specific purpose. As you go for a match, it is possible to study your opponents and determine the extent of their skills before choosing the appropriate AC machine for use.
When the AC machine’s basic structure is ready, it has to be equipped with weapons. Players are offered a wide range of weapons such as the sniper rifles, shotguns, rocket launchers, machine guns, plasma cannons and energy blades. For maximum efficiency, it is important to select the right weapon depending on your AC machine’s capability. Battles themselves are set in different venues and last for just about three minutes.
Excellent graphics add to the enjoyment of the game and you can have hours of fun tuning AC machines in the garage and competing in battles on your favourite Playstation Portable.
