Colin McRae: Dirt2 belongs to the racing and video game series Colin McRae Rally. It is published by Codemasters for the PC, PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Color, Xbox, Xbox 360 and N-Gage. There are eight members in this series and Dirt 2 is the latest. It is the sequel to Colin McRae: Dirt and is the first game launched after Colin’s death. It was announced in November 2008 and is scheduled to be released this September. Apart from a number of new features, it will also feature the late Scottish rally driver Colin McRae. The game has many new race-events including stadium events as well. There will a mobile home car this time that will travel from one vent to the other along with the player. It serves the function of headquarters for the players. There is a list of contemporary off-road events that makes the players experience diverse and challenging real-world environments.
In this latest version, the players compete in multi-car and undergo solo races at new locations. The trials range from canyon racing and jungle to city stadium-based events. Apart from the newly included multiplayer mode, the Colin McRae DIRT 2 (PSP) version has an added attraction of the Colin McRae Tribute Cup. When you play an adventure game you are controlling the avatar on the screen so you could feel personally attached to every area of the game. With the Dirt 2 version, the designers have tried to create a similar kind of experience for the players.
