Wipeout pulse is another race-oriented game, and is the follow up to Wipeout Pure, which came out with the PSP in 2005. Pulse is quite similar to Pure and 2097, which came out earlier. The main attraction of the game is its pulsating graphics, mind-blowing soundtracks and photo mode, which ignite the level of excitement while playing. In this upgraded series the difficulty level is perfectly place to make the game more interesting and thrilling. The sound track mainly consists of electronic dance tracks with some, mix but you have the option of choosing your own sound track and snapshots, which you can store in the memory stick.
Wipeout Pulse is a single player game and the main theme is the race campaign that includes 16 grids to complete, each with 8 to 16 individual challenges. One receives plenty of variety including single races, tournaments, time trials and zone challenges. You move towards the upper level by winning medals, which open new tracks, racing classes and challenges. This game provides you with so many races that it will take around 10 to 15 hours for a normal player to play through everything. It’s not mandatory to win a gold medal every time as its not a simple task to complete each level with perfection. In this game a couple of times you might get lucky and receive weapons and sometimes the computerized intelligent competitors get engaged with each other which help you at some places. If you want to use the multiplayer mode then the other player also needs to have a PSP and then you can race with seven people simultaneously with the help of its wireless infrastructure connection.
This game is not revolutionizing the whole concept of wipeout series but consists of all the elements which have made the series beloved to begin with. The game is a must for racing fans and especially for those who had already checked out the previous wipeout games.
