The AD Hoc mode allows you to connect your Playstation®Portable (PSP) to other Playstation®Portable (PSP) users within a specified range. AD Hoc mode uses the wireless network (WLAN) to carry out this operation. In order to play games on AD hoc mode each player must have UMD™ in there respective PSP.AD Hoc mode allows to compete with real challengers.
You can set up Ad Hoc mode on your PSP® in the following ways:
- Go to settings from the Home menu
- Select network settings and press x
- You will see Ad Hoc mode on your screen select and press x.
- After selecting the Ad Hoc mode, select a channel to communicate with other PSP® systems. All participating system must have the same channel of communication.
- Press x to save the settings.
AD Hoc mode also allows transferring images from one PSP to another just like the Bluetooth device in your mobile phone. AD Hoc mode lets you directly connect your PSP with other PSPs to play games head to head. AD Hoc mode lets you connect your PSP systems without having to set up a wireless access point. It lets you connect up to 16 PSP® systems that add to your fun. All PSP® systems in a AD Hoc network must have the same channel settings. Ad Hoc mode will not allow you to connect to the internet to play games online. It requires internet service and network devices, such as a DSL or cable modem and a wireless router - for example a wireless local area network (WLAN) in your home. For smooth functioning of an Ad Hoc mode you need to ensure devices like 2.4 gigahertz cordless phones, Bluetooth wireless devices, microwave ovens, fluorescent lighting, high powered audio equipment TV sets or computer monitors, any other electronic equipment that may produce Radio Frequency (RF) interference are not located nearby.
