Daxter is one of the few gaming titles that doesn’t fail to live up to expectations. The phenomenal game is available for both PS2 and PSP gamers. Although all the gamers who had experienced this title earlier will surely miss Jak in the PSP version, the handheld version still impresses. This PSP version contains every thing which makes you keep coming back for more, including phenomenal sound and music, realistic graphics and unexpected game play.
Daxter follows the story from when his beloved buddy Jak was imprisoned. There is a lot of dimension for a gamer while saving his Haven City from nefarious bugs. At every stage you have to accomplish a few targets such as killing enemies, destroying insect hives or collecting several objects. While playing Daxter (PSP) you can also choose one of two alternatives: either collecting Metal bug germs or precursor orbs. But sometimes these secondary objectives come out as a real challenge which can give you a headache. Fortunately, in this version you just have to finish the main task to progress to the next level. As you progress in the game, Daxter’s weapons (flyswatter and an insecticide sprayer) will get upgraded and eventually convert into a flamethrower and then a sonic blaster of sorts.
Daxter is also capable of performing light platforming, which includes double-jumping & scaling climbable-looking surfaces. There are some alternative game modes available, such as Zoomer where Daxter utilizes distinct missions to chase down enemies or tasks which are impossible to accomplish if he is on foot. Now let’s discuss the title’s main draw. The game’s graphics are simply breathtaking. The animation quality (inside and outside) is incredible, coupled with rich colors that make the scenes much brighter and appealing. And the best part is that these rich graphics only require a negligible loading duration. Even in the absence of Jak, Daxter has managed to perfectly provide the same level of excitement on the PSP as elsewhere.
