Valhalla Knights for the PSP

The first impression that a gamer has when hearing the title Valhalla Knights is naturally of a dark, mythological game, involving Vikings in some form or another. Valhalla Knights brings those thoughts alive with vampires thronging at the gamer’s throat, helicopters zooming around, plenty of ninjas trying to get a piece of you, hideous zombies and creepy elves adding to never ending thrill; but no Vikings. The game’s theme seems to be taken out directly from a horror movie.

Perhaps what helps the game strike a chord with the gamer is the usage of clichés throughout its duration. Valhalla Knights (PSP) begins with the player waking up a hero still in his youth who is unable to remember anything that has affected his past. So to unearth that trunk full of mysteries, the gamer sets out on a mission to find the meaning to life. During his journey, the gamer is made aware of a mysterious “Dark Lord” who has turned a peaceful land into a den full of demons and monsters. It is up to the gamer to slay the Dark Lord and restore peace into the world.

Action takes place in dungeons where monsters are on the move to take you out and if contact is made with any of them, a battle has to be fought. A maximum of six characters can be involved in the brawl and accordingly six enemies have to be fought. The R button helps the gamer to lock the enemy and the attack button has to be tapped constantly until the enemy is dead. A target has be to chosen before a player can fire a spell at him.

If played by a single player, the game can be stretched on for more than 40 hours of gameplay. The character designs are very intriguing and colorful, while the backgrounds depict a lot of variety. If a gamer wants to slash ghouls and hunt treasure, then Valhalla Knights has the ability to keep him/her busy. If you are looking for some special effects and some good action in a horror scenario, then this is the game for you.
