Unfortunately, many people have the perception that all games are based on blowing stuff up, explosions and guns. Of course this is not at all true, there are plenty of games in which no guns are involved, and all the combat is done with melee weapons; but, there are also games that are even more different, like puzzle games. Puzzle games can be just as exciting or interesting as any action oriented title. The game doesn’t include crime fighting or mission accomplishment tasks but it actually requires intelligence. One can play it for mind exercise as well. One such intellectually stimulating puzzle game is PQ2 for the PSP.
The concept of the game is very understandable as it includes a series of 100 three dimensional puzzles based on logic. Puzzle games aren’t that foreign to the PSP either, as many hit titles, like Go Sudoku (PSP), have been featured on the PSP. A player is assigned PQ scores to rate their efficiency and intelligence. Each and every puzzle involves a starting and a finishing point, and one has to guide his/her avatar throughout the level. The avatar is a white human shaped silhouette that you have to guide and ensure it reaches its destination (POINT B) in less time, while avoiding unnecessary moves. Consistency is the only way of simultaneously accomplishing the task and achieving relatively good score. The abilities of the avatar include walking around, stepping up a single block level, picking up smaller blocks, and pushing larger ones.
As compared to its previous version PQ, this upgraded edition of the game introduces some brand new aspects which will surely tease your brain further. PQ2 now includes glass blocks which will shatter if dropped; this is actually a something which can sometimes go for or against you. These blocks are amazing as lasers, which you will increasingly face more often as the game progresses, can also pass through them. The role of security guards is now being played by the Holmesian detectives. They will chase you on the same path and you’re bound to start the puzzle over if they catch up with you. Overall it’s an impressive mind twister which is recommended for any puzzle fans.
