300: March to Glory is another gaming title adding to the list of the movies turned games. The title is based on the Zach Snyder film, which itself is retelling the Frank Miller’s novel. 300: March to Glory is an awesome game experience, and it seems that if any movie was meant to become a game, this one is.
The title includes unmatched and unseen combat, ugly monstrous villains and super stylish graphics. 300 March to Glory (PSP) is based on the Battle of Thermopylae, and although the history lesson is kept to a minimum, it definitely does a good job recreating the battle’s carnage and action. Basically, the battle involved 300 Spartan Warriors facing off against thousands of troops from Xerxes the First’s Persian army. A gamer will indulge in the game in the role of Leonidas (the king) who fights against the enemies alongside some of his Spartans. You’ll notice Leonidas and his warrior’s courage as they enter every battle without any fear.
Your player (Leonidas) in the game is equipped with a shield, a sword and a spear, which are all usable at the press of a button. There are two main buttons available for dealing a massive blow, and a third button is available for using the shield. When dealing with the weaker enemies one can simply use short combo strings. By defeating or killing more and more enemies, you can earn upgraded and sharp weapons. To enhance your existence, you can also use the integrated special abilities of Leonidas. Those inherited abilities include an attack mode “blood drunk”, which enhances the attack damage and turns your display red, time slowdown mode and defensive mode, which prevents you from taking any damage for a short duration. There’s also a meter known as “Wrath”, which is needed to execute abilities, but keeps growing as you destroy more foes. So you have to always keep an eye on this meter. The overall presentation of the game is unforgettable as the graphics are dazzling accompanied by the complementary sound effects. So go ahead and relive Sparta’s glory on the PSP.
