The title’s genre is immediately recognizable before even getting into it. In case you haven’t guessed yet, Disagea: Afternoon of Darkness is an action packed strategy based title.

Instead of playing as some burly and muscular hero, the game narrates the tale of a spoiled brat named “Laharl” who is actually the prince of Netherworld. He is struggling to take his birthright by force. Apart from him, the gameplay consists of some other characters as well, who are actually Laharl’s companion. The supplementary characters include Etna, an angel trainee who’s obsessed with her power of love, a defender justice from the outer space accompanied by his multipurpose super boot, and finally the Prinnies who are penguins.

The most endearing aspect of the tile is its humor. Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness is cleverly divided into chapter’s embibed with a particular task to accomplish. In between, to restore stock items and to buy new gear you’ll certainly get back to the citadel to heal. Your player has the ability to return to any previously covered battlefield.

The title obviously includes combat, and from the base panel you can deploy up to 10 of your characters per battle. In the battle itself your characters can perform unbeatable actions, such as casting spells for example cast spells, or picking up and throwing the enemies. A gamer can also create a character himself/herself, by spending some of the supernatural force which you’ll earn while slaying enemies. As you progress in Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness (PSP) you’ll receive a huge variety of classes from which you can choose the desired one. All in all it is a decent, yet quirky strategy game, for anyone looking for a little humor with their gameplay.
