Play Wild ARMs XF with Strategy

Strategic role playing games have already made their mark in the gaming world. The titles of this genre only continue to grow. Another recent addition to this genre for the PSP is game called WILD ARMs XF. The developer of the title is none other than Media Vision which has successfully and creatively maintained the Wild West theme.

The title revolves round the heroine Clarissa Arwin and her brother Felius. Clarissa Arwin ventures with her brother to the kingdom of Elesius, which is the only remaining heaven in the world of Filgaia. Signature role-playing elements like slaying foes or reaching a destination after passing through tough scenario are naturally included in this title.

One of the distinctive elements in this title is the six-sided movement tiles. If you remember Final Fantasy Tactics, then you remember the square tiles it offered that were unfortunately not all that impressive. When you successfully surround the opponents, the hexagonal tiles allow you to perform formation arts. With the help of this your attack damage will increase until you’re appropriately positioned.

Wild ARMs XF has 16 base jobs which are featured in a novel class system and give it an edge over other titles, such as the one track Dungeon Siege - Throne of Agony (PSP) game, of the same genre. Equipment and gear is a significant part of the game, and one has to be careful to remember to re-equip when switching classes; as switching classes automatically makes your character un-equip. The weigh of your equipment can also affect your character. If the VP reaches zero when playing, then the health points of your army will shrink to one. Wild ARMs XF’s dialogues are totally cliché, and accompanied by rather lame cut scenes, which is essentially the most uninteresting aspect of the game. If you are a fan of RPGs, and strategic RPGs in particular, then this one is definitely worth a shot.
