It’s done. The news spread quickly. Sony unveiled the PSP-3000 at the CG 2008 in Leipzig, which will be available in stores by mid of October The PSP release goes hand in hand with product upgrades and new announcements, which Sony wants to bundle to strengthen its position in the highly competitive market for video games, hardware and entertainment services. The next much anticipated step of the electronic corporation is tomorrows launch of the PS3 80GB.
Although, Sony unveiled a PS3 160GB future version, the PS3 80GB is available for the price of the predecessor costing around £300. The PlayStation 3 had a very difficult childhood and troubled with price and quality. Now, Sony can be proud to present an equal to the Xbox and it is often better in many ways too. Most of the bugs have been fixed, thanks to regularly firmware updates. Tomorrows launch is therefore a fresh start to take on Microsoft.
The redesigned PSP-3000 takes the best of the PSP Slim and Lite and also combines some of the Nintendo DS features such as a microphone for better communication and a much brighter screen. The PS-3000 also supports Skype, which will be running simultaneously to BT’s GO Messenger. There is also WiFi, USB, DC IN and Out as well as video and audio connectors.
Launching the PSP-3000 in October is just right, as Christmas is in the door and Sony plans to bundle some popular games with the PSP. So being patient might be worth it.
