JET MOTO is the future of racing where you control a vehicle that is a cross between a hovercraft and motorcycle. The game is different from other racing games, because, using the hovercraft capabilities, you can drive over both water and land. Most of the courses or tracks are designed in the game in order to take advantage of this special ability. Product logos are adorned on the bikes, which makes it quite similar to the authentic sponsored racing. Most of the racing here takes place in water.
Jet Moto is totally based upon a system termed Magnetic Grapple. Some kind of magnetic attraction is created between the red energy poles, which are placed intentionally throughout the game, and the racer’s bike, by pressing an assigned button. This magnetic attraction helps the bike to swing (move to and fro) around narrow turns and over large gaps, instead of slowing down or coming to a complete halt in these difficult situations. Turns keep coming quite quick and fast in the game. Water filled woods are also a very frequent occurrence in the game.
This game has 20 characters and initially three tracks are provided. After winning the all the tournaments, 17 more tracks are provided. The race tracks are also far different from the traditional circuits found in racing games like Toca Race Driver 2. Instead the track is not in a continuous loop; it has two points, point A and point B. Racers start from point A and move on to point B; turn around and then go back to point A, facing the oncoming racers. Besides this format, conventional tracks are also provided in the game.
To conclude, Jet Moto is a decade old game which is fast, tough and most importantly fun. The presentation is perfect with ultimate character designs and very original and creative race tracks. The sound effects and sound engine are decent, and also come with some great music. In short, Jet Moto is unconventional, original, and exciting game for any racing fan.
