MX vs. ATV: Untamed for the PSP

This race oriented title has already earned a large number of fans. But the PSP version has been particularly well implemented. The title’s core beloved concept of driving in off-road environments and pulling off tricks naturally remains the same in the handheld offshoot.

The most important gameplay mode in the PSP version is the X-Cross tournament. You can also locate this excellent mode in the other console versions as well. On the other console versions the tournament mode was based on the vehicles, whereas in the PSP version this tournament mode is all about location. As you progress in the title other vehicles become unlocked, as only MX and ATV bikes are available on the get go.

In each location you are bound to go through number of events if you want to progress in the X-Cross tournament. In different locations the event types are the same and one has to clear five tests out of six. These distinct types include waypoint races that are wide open, a time attack event (the player has to reach his/her destination in a set amount of time), standard races (these races goes around outdoor super cross stages), stunt challenges (in this for pulling off stunt you get award), flag challenges (in this moving across the map you have to capture a set number of flags) and last, but not the least, stunt attacks (It includes both racing and stunts). The untamed stunt events in MX vs. ATV: Untamed will pit you against a number of riders, and in a set amount of time you have to rack up most of the stunt points. The tricks involved are simple combinations of simple buttons but while using it doesn’t felt like they are simple. Your landing will be graded with anything from “perfect” to “ouch”. The number of points you’ll earn from the trickts will be determined on the landing you manage. The PSP’s controls are a little more impressive and responsive compared to other console version. The PSP port has been very well executed and is definitely recommendable for all fans of motocross and stunts.
