The characters on this game are very dynamic. They can do hip-hop rhymes, sing, and fight, sometimes all at the same time.
The fighting style in the game is not static. You can follow a dynamic structure in which you deliver a large number of bone crashing moves to the opponent. Def Jam - Fight for NY: The Takeover is basically an incredible mixture of wrestling, fighting and hip-hop. It has got a great presentation and impressive graphics. All the players, their moves, sound effects and the way they absorb damage, have been designed so perfectly that it looks like a real life mess. The huge roster contains 68 cold hearted fighters, each with a distinct set of personal attributes and objectives. These differences in personality also have consequences in the story mode.
The player actually transforms into a pro fighter and you must first learn the principles of self defense, discipline and hard work to succeed. You have to earn money and respect after beating your opponents one after another, and then you can use that money to further customize your fighter. But that’s not so easy. You will come across the most ruthless fighters on your way, so it is important that your fighting engine be very strong. Each fighter can choose up to five fighting styles including wrestling, submissions, kick boxing, martial arts and street fighting. You have to carefully balance the skills of your fighter.
