Remember Lumines? In case you have forgotten, Lumines is one of the most appreciated puzzle games ever made. The game has received praise from gamers and critics alike. Here is another title known as Gunpey that comes with similar sensationalism, style and mind shaking puzzles.

Those who are familiar with Lumines will immediately see the similarities. In the title the player is required to connect the lines, which are pointing in various directions onto the gameplay grid, from left to right. The chain will get locked, and once you’ve linked one side to the other, you’ll have time to add more lines to it before it’s removed. There’s a D pad and a face button, with the help of which you can move a two block cursor onto the lines and move the line from one block to another. Gunpey (PSP) is over when the next row is due to appear and a line is in the top row is still incomplete. Moving the lines vertically is the first and primary challenge that needs to be accomplished.

As the player you’re not only require to connect the lines but also to move the ones which are nearer to the top towards the bottom. Making a complete connection gives you two benefits: first it’ll make the chain disappear and secondly it buys you more time. The lines become immovable for a short duration once the connection is created. If you’re used to the more visually appealing marbles and blocks then you’re at the right place. The player will have to tap the X button if he/she has already arranged the lines and is waiting for the next to appear.

In the beginning the play moves along slowly, but as the lines go to the top and it gets closer to ending, the rows start appearing quickly. While it’s not a perfect sequel to Lumines, it is an altogether quality puzzle game.
