A lot of people have fantasies of piloting aircraft while young, and especially fighter jets. Slowly and steadily your childhood fades away but fantasies remain young. But with the latest collaboration from Arcade and IR GURUS, you can make sure your fighter pilot fantasies never die on the PSP. If you will recall the same developers were behind 2005’s Heroes of the Pacific, and now their latest PSP game is entitled Heatseeker.

Heat seeker is a present day game, and you’ll find yourself in a modern jet cockpit as soon as you fire the game up. Heatseeker (PSP) gives you the opportunity to feel how real jet pilots fly in combat. It’ll also take you on combat missions, which actually prove quite exciting and fun. The game includes a campaign which spans 30 missions and locations that range from the Caribbean to Antarctica.

In the beginning you’ll familiarize yourself with the controls and in the first few missions you are supposed to guide an island base. The missions and gameplay will increase in difficulty as the game progresses. Of course, before jumping into to battle you need to be briefed on your mission objectives, and this occurs before every scenario.

The game encompasses all the latest modern fighter jets, including the F/A-18 Hornet, F-15, F-16, MIG-31, SR-71 Blackbird, F-22 Raptor and a lot more. Each plane possesses its own attributes in terms of speed rating, defense rating, agility, air to ground and air to air ability. You spend most of the time blowing things up: you utilize your ammo to slay foes, target unsuspecting jeeps, drop bombs, unleash torpedoes on ships, and expose anti-aircraft weapons. You’ll also be expected to take out opposing planes and ships, adding to the destruction. In the PSP version the missions are shorter, so actual amount of damage is a little less. Fighter pilot flight sim fans can confidently pick up this action packed title.
