Napoleon Dynamite: Unfortunately Lacking both Direction and Spirit

Napoleon Dynamite is a game based on a film by the same name, released in 2004. The game is a collection of a series of mini games at its core, which can only be described as mediocre at best. The game hardly lives up the level of the original film, and lacks both quality and content. What complicates the matter even more is a story without direction, and a collection of truly some of the most boring and drabbest mini-games you will ever come across. A bunch of memorable lines that are taken from the film are also barely audible due to a lack of proper audio back up system in the game. It thereby gives you a very damp feeling about the entire thing.

Even though the PSP version offers you the luxury of 30 odd games to choose from, there are hardly two or three games that are even worth mentioning. Unfortunately, even good movies, like Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, do not produce good games. And Napoleon Dynamite, with its lack of action or adventure, seems especially ill suited for a game, as is painfully obvious with its PSP game version. Some of the games included in the Napoleon Dynamite PSP title are the half-baked target shooting game, the idiot-simple bowling game, the occasional attempt at a scrolling shooter, etc. Apart from being downright boring the games also lack any form of coherency. You will, in addition, manage to get through most of the levels even before you realize what is happening. The most irritating of the bunch (mini games) is Dodgeball, where you are partnered with an on screen friend, but you can control only one character at a time; and you have to bear a CPU player on your team who is horrible at dodging enemy attacks.
