The PSP for Hire on Airplane Flights

Posted on Oct 9, 2008 12:32:06 PM

Ever imagined getting a Sony PlayStation Portable for hire? Yes, for hire. 1Time Airlines has come up with an astonishing idea for entertaining its passengers. The company has decided to provide a Sony PSP on hire on a per flight basis. Initially this is for limited routes only and there are only five PSPs which will be available on a first come first serve basis. But this is only the beginning. In the near future the project will acquire more handheld consoles so that more passengers can grab them to fight boredom during the flight.

This plan of offering PSP is a real feast especially for those who travel long distances and get tired in the airbus. They can take away the consoles to mingle with the latest games and movies, and apart from cash, the service can also be paid with using credit cards. In order to assure hygienic and judicious use, some standards are also set and the passengers will be provided with a brand new set of disposable silicon ear pieces which are placed innto the headphones supplied as part of the total package. The movies and games will be updated regularly. Following its “More Nice. Less Price” philosophy 1Time Airlines is now looking forward to put in more stuff for entertainment without kicking its ticket price. Who knows, maybe even a Nintendo DS Lite will follow as well. The passengers can rent a console at the affordable price of 60.00 Rand (or about 6.5 dollars) for the duration of the flight.

Anya Potgieter, 1Time marketing manager said, “By making PSPs available to 1Time passengers, we’re not only providing a unique form of in-flight entertainment in comparison to our competitors. We’re literally putting PSPs into the hands of potential new users who may traditionally not own a PSP of their own. This opportunity, from SterKinekor’s perspective (the distributor of the console), is invaluable in reaching a whole new market from a gaming perspective. Perhaps in the future, we’ll find out that our passengers will provide their own UMD movies and games and rent the PSP from the airline – cutting out the extra piece of equipment to carry around.”

Ben discovers what the DNA is being used for. He finds that robots in Omnitrix Crystals form are being powered with the help of the DNA. He also realizes that if he destroys these robots he has a good chance of getting back his alien forms. In after winning just the first battle, he gets back his XLR8.

Ben goes on to defeat to get back Cannonbolt. Ben’s next victory is against Kevin 11 who he battles against after finding out that he has kidnapped Max and is hiding in the Lumber Mill. With this victory Ben regains Wildvine.

The adventure moves on to the outer space when he fights the Ghostfreak. The venue of the battle is the Coast Theatre. Max then locks up Ben in the Null Void where he finds a second Omnitrix Crystal. With the help of this crystal Ben is able to unlock Master Control and Ghostfreak who is not playing with the extracted Alien DNA.

Continuing various events and battles, Ben rescues Gwen who has been kidnapped by doctor Amino. The Omnitrix crystal is successfully regained, unlocking the succeeding master control and obtaining Upchuck.

By defeating more and more bosses Ben increases his ability to stay alien through the course of the game. He is even able to switch back without draining the Omnitrix energy. Ranks are awarded depending on how fast you clear each level. This is a very unique and exciting adventure, one which you cannot find elsewhere.

It is always fascinating to learn about aliens, so to be transformed into an alien and to back to normal again at will makes Ben 10 all the more exciting and entertaining.

Beats

Posted on Aug 29, 2008 11:15:27 AM

This wonderful rhythm game has been aptly named beats after its innovative feature providing users with the option of using their own music whilst playing games. Players can even use music they have downloaded from the internet.

Circle, square, triangle and cross are the four keys which are used to identify the notes. Notes are played according to the rhythm of the music. The tracks have incorporated a lot of background music. Songs and tracks with rhythmic music lends excitement to the games.

In keeping with the rhythmic music, notes dance in from the screen sides and approach anchors, which are situated in the center. There are a total of three anchors. Even as the notes reach the anchors, players have to hit the buttons, which correspond to each of the labels.

Beats is a unique and fascinating way of incorporating your stored music into your games. If you are a music lover and a passionate player, this is ideal for you. Beats infuses life and fun into your music collection by effectively tracking beats, thereby creating game play from any of the songs.

You can choose between the Challenge mode and Jamming mode to play your favorite songs as you enjoy playing your game. Customisation allows the player to play with complete control. These include extras which can be downloaded, animated backgrounds and visuals – all of which are interactive. You can even share your beats online.

The multiplayer game option allows you to compete with one to four players. Gamers who are fond of music too can unleash their creativity with the option of creating your own music with the help of preset music samples.

Perhaps the best part of all of this is that it can be directly downloaded from the internet. Beat your way to victory in all your PSP games now. Download your beats and play your music – don’t just listen to it.

User-friendly controls help to make this game enjoyable. The circle is used to select a particular block but not for the purpose of swapping.

The cross control selects a block and swaps it with the next one. The select button is used to select screen shots. The memory stick then saves this file in its root directory. They consequently start a riot in protest and the zookeeper is brought in to try and control the riot. The player is the zookeeper. So, nothing left to do but enjoy pushing the animals around.

PSP is a 10 year cycle product

Posted on May 14, 2008 10:10:35 AM

Here’s some great news, at least it looks like it now, because Sony has decided that the PSP is considered to survive as a 10 yr- cycle product. That would kill anyone’s suspicions about the future of the PSP. Most importantly you don’t have to worry your PSP is going to become obsolete any time soon.

Research suggests that home consoles average around six years before a replacement has to come along, so the 10 years that Sony aims for is rather ambitious. But it still is a possibility considering the PSP’s raging popularity.

Senior PSP marketing manager John Koller is reported to have shared regarding this aspect with IGN:

“We look at it just like our console business being a ten-year cycle, but we do see iterations as we go along to really adjust to the market. What we’ve done is the 2000 series adjusted to the market in terms of making it more portable. What we’re seeing now, at least in the near- to mid-term, is going to be firmware updates that add features and other functions that the consumer’s asked for.”

“We obviously had the 1000, we have the 2000, so the PSP as it was first launched in March 2005 isn’t going to the be the PSP that it ends up as in ten years, but it will still be a very strong portable gaming device that is centred in gaming and has a lot of multi-functional features.”

Sony has already demonstrated its intent and seriousness of the this bit of news with the release of the PSP-2000 (Slim & Lite) — a range of firmware updates offering everything from internet radio to phone calls and add-ons such as GPS, now it’s more than possible to improve features without releasing a whole new bit of Hardware.

The big question now is if the target is a tad unrealistic? Will Sony be able to stick to it in the midst of the competition releasing new handheld consoles?

PSP sales continue to boom in Japan!

Posted on Apr 16, 2008 10:31:03 AM

The PSP sales boom in Japan continues relentlessly. The PSP even sold more units in one week than all the other consoles combined. Is this due to the recently released smash hit Monster Hunter (which we reported on), or because the Japanese simply have a liking for PSPs?

Regardless of the cause, our beloved console has continued to outsell the competition at an exponential rate. The numbers from the previous week look like this:

  • PSP: 120,964
  • DS Lite: 55,190
  • Wii : 44,618
  • PS3: 11,303
  • PS2: 10,423
  • Xbox 360: 1,452

That’s right PSP, yeah!
