My Spanish Coach is not your typical Playstation Portable game. In fact, it is far from it. As the name suggests, this title is meant to teach you Spanish. When you turn on the game for the first time, you will be quizzed into getting a hang of all the basics of the language, through introductory language tests. Basically, you use the face button to pick the English equivalent to the Spanish word given.

The main part of the game, the teaching, is achieved mini games, which help you recollect and refresh what you’ve learnt through the tutorial texts, which basically tell you what to use where and when. The mini games are also where your progress is recorded, and you know how good you’re getting at Spanish.

This of course involves a lot of brainwork, but it’s in a fun way, so it’s pretty acceptable. The basic idea of the mini games is to see how much you’ve mastered each word in the lesson individually and give you experience accordingly. My Spanish Coach PSP initially keeps the games to only the words from that particular lesson, unless you want to make things harder and include everything you’ve learnt till that point. You can keep trying and retrying tests till you’ve collected enough experience and mastered all 10 words in the mini game to move on to the next lesson.

The lessons are creatively placed and displayed on a map of Mexico, and you are taken along a preset rout learning things in order, such as days of the week, colours, etc.

There are many mini games you can experience in the game, ranging from simple multiple- choice questions to finding the right word in a jumble of words, to picking letters to form a word. You even have whack-a-mole type games among the eight mini games to keep you entertained. There could have been more implemented into the game, but hey, it’s the Spanish we’re worried about, right?

My Spanish Coach actually does a decent job in getting you hooked on to Spanish, and can be really useful for those who really want to learn a language, but do not have the time for professional coaching. The game gives you a lot of entertainment, and best of all, you can play it at your own pace and learn the language as you like, well, at least the basics.

Mind Quiz is a game for the PSP which is specially designed for exercising the brain using a rejuvenating school program and black board. The questions have been taken directly from Dr. Ryuta Kawashima, an editorial supervisor in Japan. The focus of Mind Quiz is to train and stimulate your mind.

The forty nine (49) exercises from four genres, including reflex, calculation, memory and judgment, are all designed to exercise your brain with simple, but tricky scientific experiments. Mind-Quiz (PSP) also features the Brain Age Checking mode, which helps you to evaluate the age of your brain by solving a particular set of questions. Playing this mode helps in comparing the actual age of the player with the age of his brain.

Mind Quiz is a perfect example of a pick up and play type of game. It has such simple functions that people from all walks of life, irrespective of their age, can enjoy this game. Once you have set up the school settings mode, you can have great fun with the online game-play and mock or oral exams. This game also has a challenge mode and healing gallery. To start off you are recommended to play five training sessions totally depending on your last scores. Then after having completed the allocated tasks, the games are gradually unlocked and become progressively more difficult. It can easily take weeks to unlock all the levels.

Throughout the game, a little white man with a rainbow of brain and his dog, guides the player. A huge number of mini-games are focused on helping the dog not die, but also on preventing him from going anywhere. Mind Quiz is an educational game which hopes to turn people into geniuses.

Mind Quiz is a collection of mind stretching and mind boggling puzzles. It is a good exercise for your brain in lateral thinking. The game is designed to give the brain a work-out, while also being fun. So anyone who doesn’t mind exercising their mind, could safely pick up this title.
