Posted on May 16, 2008 06:11:05 AM

Good things never cease to happen – or so it at least appears. Recently, Sony Computer Entertainment Japan (SCEJ) has announced a PlayStation Portable Headset with Remote Control bundle for the PSP Slim (PSP-2000). This will be made available in Japan following the official statement. It will be colored with a black face so as to match the PSP device’s color.

According to the press release:

“ Tokyo, May 2, 2008 – Sony Computer Entertainment Japan (SCEJ), a division of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI) responsible for business operations in Japan, today announced that it would release “Headset with Remote Control”(PSPJ-15012)for the slim and light PSP® (PSP-2000) in Japan on June 19th, 2008 at a recommended retail price of 3,800 yen (including tax).

The sleekly designed ear hook headset helps to provide a comfortable and stable fit, applying a black color for remote control harmoniously arranged with headset. Adopting a flexible arm microphone allows users to easily adjust it to optimum speaking position in order to enjoy voice features incorporated in game titles(*1) as well as Skype™(*2) features in clear sound.
SCEJ will deploy various measures to meet users’ demand and vigorously promote the expansion of PSP platform as an innovative handheld entertainment system.
• To use Skype on PSP with the combination of this headset, Skype account, “Memory Stick Duo”, Internet connection are necessary. And PSP system software must be version 3.93 or later.
• This headset can be used for”TALKMAN”series and “P-kara “for PSP.”

It will be made available for sale in retail establishments soon, but for now you might want to grab it at Amazon, where it is currently listed for about 30 $. It also eliminates the need for you to buy the Sony Head Set for Skype and The Sony PSP Remote Control, saving you about 20 $ with one single purchase. Perhaps, it is time to go for the digital congruence instead of carrying different pieces to accomplish one task.
