At last the Sony has come up with the new and much improved version of the world’s most preferred handheld gaming device, the PSP. The company revolutionized the portable gaming world when it first launched the original PSP one few years back. That console was very bulky and was not very attractive or ergonomic. So the company launched the Slim n Lite version of the PSP, also called the PSP 2000. This one was really a great improvement over the PSP one as it was 33 percent lighter and 19 percent slimmer. It also offered gamers the option of redirecting the video output towards the TV screen via its video out feature. But still there was something lacking in the console. The new improved features on PSP Slim n Lite were subject to many restrictions. For example; the video out feature of PSP 2000 can be used only with those televisions which support progressive scan. Apart from this, the display of the PSP Slim n Lite was not effective when exposed to direct sunlight. Thus Sony entertainment has once again revised its PSP specifications and created the new version of PSP called, the PlayStation Portable 3000.
The new PSP version is very different from the Slim n Lite model. It has removed many deficiencies in order to deliver incredible graphics, sound quality and other useful functions. The PSP 3000 has been enhanced ergonomically as well. Its contours have been redesigned to make it more comfortable to hold in your hands than the PSP Lite and Slim. The video out feature is also enhanced. Now you can connect the PSP 3000 to non HD TV’s and those ones which do not support the progressive scan mode. Its display is now protected with the anti-glare coating, which makes it an ideal console to use in direct sunlight. The contrast, color and resolution are also improved. Besides this, the PSP 3000 also has a built-in microphone which can be used to communicate with your loved ones via Skype. So altogether these are definitely some long awaited improvements that have made the handheld console even better.
