Even before you wipe the name off thinking it is one of those “already-tried-this-show-me-something else”, you will have to stop and take note of what this game has to offer. Instead of keeping it simple blocks of square or rectangular in shape falling down onto the base and then you frantically try to arrange them into a neat order to make them go away, it isn’t going to be that simple with Puzzle Guzzle. The blocks are there to fall, but only that the shapes are actually going to be like a parallelogram or a triangle or all sorts of other shapes that you would least expect in a game like this one.
Whatever it might seem to you, it certainly isn’t one of those good old flip the brick to get done with it type of a game. As you get started with the play, you will be asked to create an avatar for yourself – pretty simple this one. You will also see that you actually have three game play options drop puzzles, stuffit puzzles, and quiz puzzles and you will get to choose to play either solo or with a challenger.
According to a review on gamespot.com “ In a solo drop puzzle, pieces fall from the top of the screen at an increasingly faster rate as you try to clear them, just like in Tetris. In a challenge drop puzzle, you try to outlast an opponent by clearing your own blocks and dropping special blocks on their side”. The game just gets a little trickier and will take some time for you to understand and get comfortable with it. The reason why you see a “Guzzle” in Puzzle Guzzle is that there is a mind-numbing collection of over 300 little puzzle types that you can play out. Some guzzle, eh?
The Puzzle Guzzle sells for around 20 $ and is quite a deal for that price. However, if you are a graphics freak you might not like it one bit – the graphics are far below satisfactory and looks almost archaic. The graphics aren’t and the avatars that you either get to make all by yourself or you win some from your games don’t look very pretty. To put it bluntly, the game somehow manages to get the job done with audio tracks barely eating into your soul. The tracks will be forgotten the moment you are off the game. If you are a victim of a boring road trip; a long traveling sojourn and you ended up with nothing else than Puzzle Guzzle – you will have a better time then.
