Parappa the Rapper for the PSP

Posted on Sep 8, 2008 11:39:51 AM

Parappa is a cute little teenage dog with that uses the power of rap or hip-hop to solve his real life challenges. This rapping dog has a crush on a walking, talking, dreamy girl, Sunny Funny. In order to win the heart of this sunflower girl, Parappa the Rapper will have to see off the overly heroic rival Joe Chin. He will need some serious help in achieving this.

To achieve his ultimate goal, which is to win the pretty flower girl, Parappa will have to get a driver’s license, learn kung fu, earn some money by getting a job, find a way to get into a public rest room, bake a cake with a TV chef, and perform in a concert with MC King Kong Mushi. In order to achieve all this, the cute little dog will have to consolidate all his rapping powers and get through this situation.

The graphics and the charming characters in the game are pretty interesting and add a nice touch. The included songs are pretty goofy, and silly, but the audio quality manages to sound good. PaRappa: The Rapper includes a lot of karaoke, drumming and strumming. It also supports Ad-hoc functionality (PSP-PSP connectivity). The multiplayer works with one player initially solving a game, and then the other player trying to beat his score. It can support up to 4 players and the score is time based.

Parappa the Rapper is a cute rhythm game dealing with the challenges faced by the lovable teenage dog, Parappa, as he tries to win the heart of the pretty sunflower girl. He uses his awesome rapping abilities to solve all his problems. The gameplay itself is very unique, includes six different levels and features an exciting multiplayer mode with up to four players.

Get your bling on with 50 Cent: Bulletproof G-Unit Edition

Posted on Jul 28, 2008 03:12:33 PM

Vivendi Universal Interactive has done it again. They have taken something which was already good and made it even better. I am talking about the 50 Cent Bulletproof game for the PS2 which has been upgraded to 50 Cent: Bulletproof G-Unit Edition for the PSP.

The story is basically that 50 Cent’s homeboy K-Dog has been killed and he is trying to find the assassin. In addition to that, government agents are trying to frame him for murder. What ensues is brilliant action but with a hip-hop twist.

You will roam through everything from meth labs to shady club joints to mansions, basically the whole works. Instead of the third person mode used in the PS2 version, this game has a top-down and isometric viewpoint, which is a pleasant and refreshing change. There are lots of bad guys and bosses with unbelievably large health bars in the single player levels; hence 50 Cent Bulletproof - G-Unit Edition (PSP) requires a lot of skill. The bad guys will attack you with whatever they have once you are within their range. There are a host of weapons available for you ranging from blunt objects to guns to explosives. Another interesting feature which is not available in the PS2 version is the provision for one button kill moves which show fine cutscenes of Fiddy’s execution expertise.

There is also the multiplayer option for the game which was also not available in the PS2 version. You can choose from various multiplayer modes such as basic deathmatch, capture the flag etc.

How could you have a 50 Cent game without great music? The tracks playing in the background are some of 50’s and G-Unit’s best tracks, with sick lyrics, beats, and drums. Thee best feature is that there are also lots of unlockable songs and videos with never before seen footage.

Although the cutscenes graphics are awesome with sharp looking character models and brilliant camera angles, the actual gameplay graphics are not up to the mark and are a bit grainy. But it is only a small blemish on this overall excellent gangsta game.
