Rock Band Unplugged (PSP): Relive Moments from the original Rock Band Game and More

Posted on Jul 21, 2009 12:34:40 PM

The Rock Band Unplugged (PSP) is the predecessor of Guitar Hero and Rock Band, the first of musical games that revolutionised the gaming world. The Rock Band Unplugged game would provide the player with a full band experience and relive the elements from the older Rock Band game. The player doesn’t need to hold any plastic guitar to play the game. He or she has to play the game with the buttons on the system and match the music layout box from which the music will be played. The player can also create and customize his/her own band, band-mates and can even change the band logo. The players can take control directly of the drums, lead/bass guitars and vocals.

The Rock Band Unplugged can replenish the player’s dream of a World Tour. The player can customize his or her own band and can head out on to a world tour which involves 24 cities and venues. The player of the Rock Band Unplugged PSP game can build his or her music library. With the Rock Band Unplugged the player can expand his or her portable music library with the DLC from in-game music store of Rock Band. The player can simply choose a set of song list to play multiple song tracks in a row or just pick up a single song and continue to jam. Brand new songs can be downloaded on the PSP through Wi-Fi. This is the first option ever provided on the PSP system.

Patapon 2: More Rhythmic Fun on the PSP

Posted on Mar 22, 2009 04:35:19 PM

The original Patapon provided a lot of excitement enabling us to lead one eyed warriors to the end of the Earth. A lot of fun and enjoyment went into bringing Zigotons to their knees, in grappling with Gorl and bringing down Dodongas. The sequel to this interesting game from Pyramid provides quite a bit of entertainment too.

Story is along the same lines as the original game. You are the almighty and your duty is to lead the gang of loyal Patapons to fame and victory. This has to be done by defending, attacking, tapping through rhythms even as you beat the advance, etc. A horde of new enemies and Patapons are introduced to you. Surprisingly, a simple Patapon game actually transforms into a strategy epic which features fantastic management of resources.

Carry miracles you hand pick to battles, optimize your army formation and create new troops with the help of raw materials you collect as you advance in the game. Developer Studio Japan has added enough challenge and strategy in Patapon 2 PSP. Initial part of the game will see you guiding Yaripons or the spear throwers into the battle.

The first part of the game goes along the same lines as the original game. However, innovation is provided in the form of the introduction of the hero after you encounter the first boss of the game. Heading up your army, the soldiers are powerful and equipped with abilities such as tough foot soldier, knight who rides the horse and the spear thrower.

Challenge comes in the form of choosing the best battle formation and strategically switching between archers, cavalry, foot troops, etc. Hero has to be carefully chosen too. With more than 40 levels to navigate through the game offers enough challenges along the way.

More challenge is thrown up in the form of difficulty in getting the most out of the hero. While some feel that the original fun of the game has been taken away in this sequel, with added features this game is quite interesting and provides for fun and entertainment on your favourite Playstation Portable.
