Armored Core: Formula Front - Extreme Battle is a Robot fighting Game on the PSP

Posted on Apr 12, 2009 04:32:15 PM

This is a simulation game which comes with steep learning curve. The PSP game features a lot of parameters and parts. The giant fighting robot can be customized and pitted against your friends as you play the multiplayer option.

Awesome firepower and metal is what comes to our mind when we start playing Armored Core: Formula Front Extreme Battle. This game from publishers 505 Games plays surprisingly well on the handheld. This game is in depth with a mech management filled with heavy stats.

As a player, you are in charge of a rookie team. The team consists of armored core or AC units numbering five. In order to equip yourself to square off with other mechs in the Formula Front, a futuristic sport, you assemble these AC units and tune them like an architect. As a player, you find yourself spending most of your time in the garage assembling the units with various parts and weapons.

You have to keep in mind various aspects as you build your robot. These include the mobility, heat, weight and energy output. One of the funnest parts of Armored Core: Formula Front - Extreme Battle is balancing the six different AC unit stats. Weapon targeting and radar disruption can be used to resist electronic countermeasures for the AC unit such as the cooling, energy supply, mobility, defensive power, attack power and VS ECM. By balancing all these effectively, it is possible to obtain an overall good rating.

It is possible to tune each AC unit for a specific purpose. As you go for a match, it is possible to study your opponents and determine the extent of their skills before choosing the appropriate AC machine for use.

When the AC machine’s basic structure is ready, it has to be equipped with weapons. Players are offered a wide range of weapons such as the sniper rifles, shotguns, rocket launchers, machine guns, plasma cannons and energy blades. For maximum efficiency, it is important to select the right weapon depending on your AC machine’s capability. Battles themselves are set in different venues and last for just about three minutes.

Excellent graphics add to the enjoyment of the game and you can have hours of fun tuning AC machines in the garage and competing in battles on your favourite Playstation Portable.

Innocent Life Will Let You Live in Future

Posted on Oct 6, 2008 12:59:51 PM

As a successor of the Harvest Moon series, Innocent Life: A Futuristic Harvest Moon is a pleasant and fun-filled game, designed to give you the feeling of starting life afresh. There are actually many reasons to like the Harvest Moon games, be it on account of the great gameplay, amazing graphics or interesting plots. The publisher Natsume has incorporated all these features, along with using a captivating story, in this latest PSP title.

The Innocent Life takes players to an isolated island like other Harvest Moon titles. So what is so new about the game? Well this time around the island is futuristic and allows you to control life in an era that is yet to come. If you find the story a little complicated in the beginning, I advice you to be patient because it is only a short phase. Beginning in the year 2002, the Harvest Moon: Innocent Life (PSP) takes you to a small and scarcely populated island named Heartflame. However, you are not one of these residents; instead you play a robot created by Dr. Hope. As a robot, you have the privilege of revealing all those areas that are hazardous to humans, such as the island’s ominous volcano. Robots are made to work, so you start your mission to help the residents in solving the mystery of the volcano. Another important task for you is to update the farming knowledge of the innocent inhabitants.

If your playing skills are good enough to solve the gem system, you will be able to unlock the seals surrounding the island. This will open a way to many new places for you to explore a lot more. The concrete graphics and friendly controls are among the other favorable points of Innocent Life. Above all, the futuristic theme is the strongest motivator to make the game worth-playing.

The game is overall out of the ordinary, and includes the usual charm of the Harvest Moon series. You will experience a great thrill in the role of a robot, doing grid-based cultivation and communicating with the humans. He is actually a machine with a heart, made to match the challenges of the future.

Tokobot for the PSP: A Sort of Robotic Pikmin

Posted on Sep 9, 2008 11:47:55 AM

Tokobot can be best described as a cross between Nintendo’s Pikmin game and a puzzle platform game. This game features six tiny robots which are totally controlled by the player and used to navigate and solve various puzzle levels. Though it sounds quite simple, this game actually offers its share of challenges and enjoyable moments.

The best part is that the player not only has to learn how to manage the group of six or more robots, but also learn how to make use of some of their intricate moves during the course of the game. The tocobots have the special ability to get into any kind of three formations. These special formations can make use of special moves called Joint Actions. These joints can be used to defeat the enemies. The real excitement in Tokobot (PSP) lies in deciding which move to be taken when and, most importantly, which move will be most effective for disposing off a particular enemy.

The game’s graphics are very crisp and sharp, and the background areas appear quite smooth when in motion. There have been a few special effects added to the game to enhance its visuals. The sound effects include the sound of beeps and other noises, in addition to a quirky soundtrack. On a whole, the audio in the game would sound something like a special soundtrack created by the techno band of robots.

Tokobot can be regarded as an extremely unique and entertaining game. This game can be regarded as something completely fresh and different, with hardly any precedents, other than maybe Pikmin. It is definitely not a simple or easy game to play either. It will definitely offer hours of mind bending enjoyment. Tokobot is a complete package deal with a completely unique gameplay, challenging levels, and excellent organization.
