Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2006 (PSP): A Superbly and Realistically Designed Golf Game

Posted on Jun 25, 2009 05:16:38 PM

The Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2006 (PSP) has been launched for the Sony Playstation Portable and has a lot of variations in it to make the game captivating. The changes that the golf franchise of EA made have also been brought in to the PlayStation Portable. The game has been made a little challenging so that golfers get a chance to test their nerve. The X button can be pressed for viewing the path which would be most suitable for the ball to travel on and reach the hole. There is a meter on the side of the screen which determines the power going into the swing and the impact caused by it.

The very composition of the single player mode has been re-structured and challenges can be laid out on the rival mode. This mode will test the golfing skills of the gamer as events will take place on rough terrains and against the most challenging opponents. This will go on till the gamer reaches the beast, the ‘Tiger’ himself for a final showdown. The 18-hole tournaments will indeed be enthralling and will ask for a lot of skill. The load times in the Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2006 PSP game have improved manifold and the gaming interface has also been enhanced with graphics. If you are passionate about golf, there is no way you would miss out on this. The birdies, the eagles and the swings are all designed with a customary approach. The game is as good as witnessing a live Masters tournament being played on location. The Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2006 (PSP) lives up to all expectations and delivers.

Buzz! Master Quiz: A Good Effort Gone Awry

Posted on Sep 24, 2008 12:38:09 PM

The Buzz! Master Quiz is a somewhat clumsy yet important effort on the part of the manufacturers who have brought the popular Buzz series to your PSP handheld unit. The development is rather surprising and you will be puzzled to as to how a game, that is suitable for multiplayer shenanigans, will adjust with a format that is meant for solo gaming. The consequences of such a surprising transition are predictable, and include rather uneven and choppy gameplay.

The game has an eponymous host who guides you through the various rounds in both the single-player and multiplayer mode. But what you will dearly miss are the gaudy sets, glamorous co-host, and wacky character models which played a crucial role in the popularity of the original version. In Buzz! Master Quiz (PSP) you have to choose an on-screen character to represent you in the competition. The single player mode of this format is really bland and insipid, which is unfortunate considering the focus of the PSP is on solo play first, and multiplayer second. You, nevertheless, have three multiplayer modes at your disposal. It is commendable that two out of three of these modes can be played using a single PSP. In the Quiz Host mode, up to six players can participate in the game using a single PSP. The Pass Around mode is undoubtedly the most intriguing part of the game which keeps you on your toes due to its surprising nature.
