Tony Hawk’s Project 8 is the eighth game in the Tony Hawk Series

Posted on Dec 30, 2008 09:44:55 PM

Tony Hawk’s Project 8 is the eighth game in the Tony Hawk series. This game comes with a simple storyline and it is all about Tony Hawk trying to find the top eight skaters in the world. At the beginning of the game the players are ranked in 200th place and it is their task to reach the top spot. The players are also entrusted with the task of finding the hidden items, performing tasks for the pro skaters and completing goals for the bystanders. One of the most fascinating things about this game is, it doesn’t make you feel bored and you will wish to play it again and again.

The most amazing feature in Tony Hawk’s Project 8 game is the graphic design and the different difficulty levels. The game doesn’t allow players to set their difficulty level and path but instead the players are given certain goals to be accomplished. Every goal in the game has three separate levels, namely amateur, sick and pro levels. Only on completing these levels the various passages will be uncovered, the chalk challenge being the most interesting level. One of the additional features in the Tony Hawk’s Project 8 is the “nail-the-trick”. In nail-the-trick mode, the players can play in slow motion. Through this the players can view their feet and skateboard in slow motion with a single click which gives the players a feel of watching a movie.

The game offers the players ten different areas, each one distinct from the other yet connected. The features in Tony Hawks Project 8 are numerous, but one of the liveliest one is the spot challenge where the other players can set their records and challenge the player to follow them. With eight points from critics and awards for its good background score this game deserves all the applause. The graphics of this game resemble the next-gen graphics. The tutorial facility available enables new comers to find their balance and making them feel comfortable with the controls. With a simple storyline which falls straight to the subject, the game is definitely a thing of delight for ardent fans of skating. So take your skating board and be the first one among your friends to reach the top rank.

Tony Hawk’s Underground 2 Remix

Posted on Aug 1, 2008 01:58:26 PM

Do you remember skateboarding champion Tony Hawk? Yes the same Tony Hawk which you have enjoyed in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2. Now with the same stylish appearance and super cool attitude Tony Hawk is again here. This time Tony Hawk is available on our adorable handheld PSP.

The latest PSP hit from the skating legend is Tony Hawk’s Underground 2 remix. The name already suggests that this version has been upgraded and remixed. As we all know, Tony Hawk’s series is all about fast moving free style skateboarding. Just like its predecessors, Tony Hawk’s Underground 2 Remix is also goal oriented, and this has played a key factor in its popularity. The missions or the goals in the title include score based challenges, combos of tricks, and some objective based stuff. But in the remixed version the biggest modification is the addition of four new stages which offer more possibilities for you to test out moves on your skateboard. The brand new entries are Kyoto, Las Vegas, Atlanta and Santa Cruz. In these you’ll come across cut scenes and dialogues in between your exciting skateboarding sequences.

The story mode is a whirlwind tour in which you’ll get four skates and in each level you’re expected to accomplish a number of goals. You’ll begin as a created skater and later you can pick a pro skater as a partner. As in the earlier Tony Hawk’s Pro Skaters games, this one also incorporates a “Classic Mode” which brings back the two minute run timer and the goal structure. In THU2R the most vital addition is the sticker slap. The Sticker slap is an airborne wall plant that shoves you off with the good deal of acceleration. It also possesses a brand new “freak out” function in which a freak out meter will appear after some falls. A gamer can fill this meter again merely by mashing the grind button.

Apart from the concept, the games graphics are spectacular and are much better than previous versions. The audio is also great and perfectly complements the graphics and the situation. Overall this is yet another smash hit from the Tony Hawk series.
