The title’s genre is immediately recognizable before even getting into it. In case you haven’t guessed yet, Disagea: Afternoon of Darkness is an action packed strategy based title.
Instead of playing as some burly and muscular hero, the game narrates the tale of a spoiled brat named “Laharl” who is actually the prince of Netherworld. He is struggling to take his birthright by force. Apart from him, the gameplay consists of some other characters as well, who are actually Laharl’s companion. The supplementary characters include Etna, an angel trainee who’s obsessed with her power of love, a defender justice from the outer space accompanied by his multipurpose super boot, and finally the Prinnies who are penguins.
The most endearing aspect of the tile is its humor. Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness is cleverly divided into chapter’s embibed with a particular task to accomplish. In between, to restore stock items and to buy new gear you’ll certainly get back to the citadel to heal. Your player has the ability to return to any previously covered battlefield.
The title obviously includes combat, and from the base panel you can deploy up to 10 of your characters per battle. In the battle itself your characters can perform unbeatable actions, such as casting spells for example cast spells, or picking up and throwing the enemies. A gamer can also create a character himself/herself, by spending some of the supernatural force which you’ll earn while slaying enemies. As you progress in Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness (PSP) you’ll receive a huge variety of classes from which you can choose the desired one. All in all it is a decent, yet quirky strategy game, for anyone looking for a little humor with their gameplay.

Mission oriented titles often have what it takes to keep gamers hooked and coming for more. One advantage of such titles, as opposed to online or open-ended games, is that levels can be constructed in such a way so as to offer a near perfect gaming experience. “Field Commander” is another such game for your PSP that follows in the successful footsteps of titles like Prince of Persia, God of War, and Devil May Cry.
Field Commander is a strategy based game, which involves lengthy campaigns and an array of online multiplayer options. The design of the game is totally based on the maps which are divided into squares and cover a variety of different terrain. You’ll receive different bonuses and penalties for defense and actions from different types of terrain. The huge variety of maps included in the game include such landmarks as airports to pump out units, cities for generating income, factories and above all special control rooms in which you can use devastating attacks. Field Commander (PSP) creates a real atmosphere of the war, as you can park the vehicles on the enemy base to control factories production of units. On the other hand tank cannons and other explosive attacks can deform the terrain as well. In Field Commander the whole controlling pattern is in your hand and you can take pleasure in controlling everything like different types of tanks, helicopters, gun ships, battleships submarine and more. Different divisions offer distinct things, such as supplementary range at the expense of vision radius, strong aircraft but week land units, excess fuel consumption is exchange for power. All this actually depends on the division, as each have its own strengths and weakness.
As the player you’ll control the commander of the ATALS alliance (band of nations) which is fighting against the Shadow Nation (a terrorist organization). Only one thing in the game which is not appreciable is its 3D graphics, otherwise the game is a first-class handheld strategy game.

Till now we have enjoyed several Puzzle oriented titles in our Play Station Portable, but this time we require upgrading our mind to go through this tough task. Patapon is another mind shaking title ready to hold you to your beloved PSP. This is unlike any other game that has come out earlier.
When you try your hand at Patapon, you will enter as a divine character that is worshipped by a tribe. Being their almighty you are required to lead the tribe to a mysterious place called “EARTHEND”. Patapon is a tribe of proficient warriors, who desperately need a leader. Being a leader you have to give them the orders, which are very simple, such as “advance”, or “attack”. But later you will learn other orders as well. As you are playing their ‘God’, you will learn to use your ultimate powers such as changing weather etc. which will surely assist you and your archers to achieve their task. The name given to the archers in the game is “Yumipon” and they are of six distinct types, but you can only pick three different units on each mission.
While playing 30 plus missions you will receive a variety of missions such as hunts, battles and bosses. If you choose hunting levels you will be required to collect resources from outrageous places and mainly indigenous creatures. In battles you receive an opportunity to develop your army without spending any resources. You face the boss at the end of a level, which is the toughest part of the level, as you need to figure out and memorize attack patterns. Once you are through with one boss, and have to encounter the boss again, then remember that each time it will get tougher. There are times when you are not leading the tribe, in that phase also you have to be alert. Patapon is a game of strategy and this is the first time that a title like this has been released. This is surely a surprise for hardcore gamers, as they had never come across this kind of game ever before.
