SpongeBob with his idol Mermaidman comes to save the day when Barnacleboy and Mermaidman are kidnapped by the evil Dirty Bubble at the Super Villain Twenty Year Reunion at Bikini Bottom. As a player, you will be helping SpongeBob fight against the army of evil doers led by the evil Dirty Bubble.
SpongeBob is charged with super powers. The superhero belt of the Mermaidman is at your disposal as you aim to become Bikini Bottom’s super hero by fighting Dirty Bubble and his evil army.
Mermaid’s superbelt has exciting features like Super Speed, ability to summon sea creatures, Super Strength, manifest a raging whirlwind, Water Ball, etc. The game play is solid and features SpongeBob SquarePants in a richly detailed, massive and dense 3D environment.
You can use more than one path to achieve your goals with the help of the gameplay which is non-linear. SpongeBob’s charm adds to the enjoyment. Each stage takes you to new areas including SpongeBob’s house, the downtown district restaurant, etc. 3D movement adds to the excitement during navigation.
There are various tasks given to SpongeBob to complete as he runs across these locations. Certain areas in Spongebob Squarepants - the Yellow Avenger are not accessible and SpongeBob has to acquire super powers to overcome these obstacles. There is added excitement in the form of the engaging Boss fights. You have to skilful enough to figure out patterns of using the super powers as well as identify and exploit weaknesses.
Indoor resembles adventure classic games as SpongeBob goes around exploring. Players are instructed through blocks of text both at the beginning and end of the missions. One feature that could have added to the excitement if included is the voice acting. As SpongeBob is injured and comes flying at the screen open mouthed, the scenario borders on the odd with no sound effects.
As a player, you go around performing tasks as you are, at all stages, aware of what you must do next, which is basically all about helping SpongeBob around with his various tasks. Though not a seat edge thriller, this casual and leisurely game is ideal to just relax and play on the PSP.

Good news for all the PSP owners. Now you can connect ther PSP to your home television. I know what you are thinking….you must be recalling those old TV connectors which require some frustrating modification with the PSP in order to connect them. Another drawback of the old connectors was that they required a technician who could attach them to the PSP. But hey! Happy days are here again, as the new PSPonTV hits the handheld devices market.
It’s an all new peripheral device which can connect your PSP and a television (NTSC and PAL) with each other. No modification needs to be done on the PSP. This new TV connector is easy to use and connect. You don’t have to wait for a technician to do the task. You can connect the two devices via Composite or S-Video and Stereo connectors. The PSPonTV gets clipped on the screen of your PSP with the help of two screws which can hold this device easily and firmly. This device has a built-in lens and mirror system at its top which faces the PSP screen. Just like the scanners the lens and the mirror works together to capture the image and light emitted via PSP screen and converts them into a video signal. Afterwards, the signal is transferred to the TV set via cables which are coming out of the PSPonTV adapter. It’s really a nice device, isn’t it? Now you can enjoy all your multimedia stuff including the game animations and stories on a big screen in no time. This awesome device is a good accessory as it increases the functionality and charm of the PSP. So have one, as soon as you can to give a surprise to your friends.

When you just thought that the Sony Playstation Portable couldn’t do much more than what it can already do, we will have yet another surprise coming up. The PSP now gets a new feature to boast of. Sony has reported officially the launch of Go! View – a video download service for the PSP will be available for access all over Europe this summer.
In partnership with Sky (a satellite Broadcaster), will allow for a subscription based or a pay-per view type of access to videos to be made available as direct downloads.
Users can register for more information now on the Go! View website, and when the service launches will be able to download content to the PSP via an internet-connected PC. They will be able to choose the content they would like and then even have them sorted out on the web itself at the User’s Account section. When needed, however, the user can download the content on the PSP.
Alison Turner, MD of Go!View, stated her belief that “Go!View is a perfect marriage of great content and leading on-demand technology from Sky and the best portable device to watch it on from PlayStation.”
More services and products are expected from Go View and some of the expected ones are like to be a video messaging service and a GPS navigation software platform for the PSP. Not that we didn’t have some of them from our beloved Homebrews but they are just that – enviable hacks with security issues. It is something else when your favorite software comes from some respectable names.
With releases like these it appears that the PSP has an insatiable appetite to eat more and more developments and we are only beginning to wonder as to what else this machine is capable of doing.
