The PSP is one entertainment device that covers nearly every game genre in existence for its fans. From pony riding, to zombies, to even tennis, you will find something for every taste on the PSP. Returning to tennis, the latest game of this genre to hit the PSP is none other than the title Virtua Tennis 3. Has this title succeeded in bringing tennis to the PSP in a meaningful and entertaining manner? A resounding YES on both accounts.

Virtua Tennis 3 is one such title which is considered very good and entertaining, even for non-tennis enthusiasts. This game was originally developed for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but now PSP owners can also get their hands on the professional rackets. In case you are wondering, the PSP version is not too much different from the PS3 and Xbox 360 version. The main menu of the game, for instance, is the same and has all the options queued in the same order.

There are many different gameplay modes available to keep things interesting, including World Tour, Tournament, Exhibition and Court Games. The tournament mode itself contains four Grand Slam tournaments. The exhibition mode in Virtua Tennis 3 (PSP) is simply a single match which can be played either in singles or in doubles. This way up to four players can participate in the game simultaneously. If you are not in a mood to complete full length games, then the Court Game mode can offer you a different treat. This mode contains several mini-games which are different from normal tennis matches. These include Pin Crusher, Tricky Pin Crusher, Avalanche, Panic Balloon, Court Curling, Alien Attack and Super Bingo. You can try them to enjoy a game of humorous lawn tennis.

Lastly, there is the World Tour mode which offers you a lot of options for player customization. You can give your character a name, like Roger Federer, configure the gender, playing style, body and much more. In this mode you have to select a home base and then pursue your tennis career like the real life pro tennis players. The AI of the game is so realistic that you will be forced to improve your skills at each level to attain a good rank. Overall Virtua Tennis 3 is very entertaining, well implemented and refreshing tennis game.
