First Impressions of King of Clubs

Posted on Oct 28, 2008 05:13:35 PM

King of Clubs is an interesting mini golf game. A lot of excitement in the game is generated by traps, dinosaurs, clubs and special golf clubs. This game is all set to charm and enthrall golf lovers.

The Wii version of the game comes with simple Wii Remote controls, but the versions from other consoles, like the King of Clubs PSP or Nintendo DS versions, are nearly just as engrossing. Shots can be angled from the top view, as well as from a third person perspective. Lowering or raising the remote with the Wii will determine the amount of charge generated in the swing, while the PSP version naturally uses standard controls. All that is needed to hit the ball is to move the remote in the Wii version after the power is set.

Though this game sounds simple, it is extremely challenging and offers the player various exciting obstacles; including, jumps, pitfalls and very few straight shots. Over the top balls and clubs are the tools with which you can overcome the challenges in your way. In order to hit the ball around the corners, you can use an especially wacky putter.

The bed of lava hole with its crazy triceratops requires quite a lot of skill to overcome. This hole ends up in the triceratops mouth after starting with a hairpin turn and going on patches which are bumpy. As you reach the hole through this long route, you come across another small patch. An alternate route offers you the option of crossing a pool of lava to jump the ball. It is, however, always important to use the right club for the right purpose.

In order to obtain clubs, you have to unlock them and replay holes after going back. The variety in this interesting game is stupendous and absorbs players to such an extent that they become positively addicted. Tact, strategy and ingenuity pave the way for a multitude of victories and rewards. With more than one way of solving puzzles and on your way through almost 95 holes building your skills and equipments, King of Clubs goes on nearly forever and will offer you plenty of gaming time. This exciting and interesting game is set in an unused and dilapidated Nevada desert theme park, which adds an element of mystery and fun. Players can have hours of fun playing this wonderful and interesting game of golf.

Feel the Manhunt on the PSP

Posted on Oct 9, 2008 01:37:30 PM

Video games often get a lot of bad press for encouraging violent behavior with their carnage and senseless killing, but Manhunt 2 from Rockstar outdoes nearly all the competitors when it comes to senseless, random violence. If you have been longing to release all that pent up rage, then this violent, and gory game will definitely be for you.

In this game you play as Dr. Danny Lamb. He’s actually an asylum inmate who luckily got a chance to escape all because of a freak electrical malfunction. Since he’s in a mental asylum he doesn’t remember much, but with his fellow inmate and constant companion Leo he’s able to fill in bits. As he begins remember his past he found that he was deeply involved in a medical experiment known as “The Project”. Throughout Manhunt 2 (PSP) there’s only one matter of worry and that’s fear of getting caught. As Danny you can easily disappear whenever you desire, which means you are struggling to survive in a stealthy manner. As the past and truth are revealed an interesting story unfolds.

In the Manhunt title fighting for survival is more compelling than fighting for sanity. You’ll be taken through some of the grimiest and seediest locations possible, such as a sticky sex club, gritty gas stations, and slummy warehouses. While exploring these dreary locales you can always expect the unexpected. The graphics could be better, but are more than sufficient for a handheld game. The sound is also quite eerie and relevant to the game.

PSP rakes in great sales beating Nintendo’s Wii this April

Posted on May 19, 2008 10:46:47 AM

April turned out to be a great month for Sony and that’s good news for all the PSP fans. The hardware sales in Japan have been steadily growing and that makes PSP settle at the very top of the “must-buy” list and shows no signs of abating.

Another piece of related news that might elate the PSP community is the fact that the PSP has sold twice as much as Nintendo’s Wii units.

Pocket gamer had a round-up of the statistics from various sources:

” In the same month Mario Kart Wii hit shop shelves and instantly topped the software charts, PSP was still outselling the console by 2:1. In total, the handheld sold a massive 380,697 units during April, while Wii sold 187,121 and DS 169,911”

And further:

” However it’s achieved the sales figures though, the result is a console with a fast-increasing user base that publishers - especially in Japan - can hardly overlook. Whether PSP can achieve the same levels of success in the west over the coming months remains to be seen, but outselling Nintendo in the month a new Mario Kart game is released is certainly a promising start “

A few great games available to be played on the PSP and the fact that it had long since garnered a huge community of game lovers has made the PSP a hot favorite with many fans. The fact that the PSP also proves to be highly versatile and has the ability to do much more than mere gaming, including a horde of services, can make the PSP truly an indisputable leader among all the gaming devices currently available!

Brett Favre can be played with on PSP – Madden NFL 09

Posted on May 5, 2008 10:42:17 AM

Madden NFL 09Brett Favre was a well-known quarter-back having done his team Greenbay packers pretty proud having won countless accolades and honors, including the super wins at the Super Bowl Championship, nine pro-bowls and a few Super Bowl stints. The Associated press also christened him as an MVP for a whopping three years and was even featured in the Sports Illustrated as the ‘Sportsman of the Year”

According to Gamespot.com “ Favre also holds a series of NFL records: most consecutive starts by an NFL quarterback (253), most career passing touchdowns (442), most career passing yards (61,655), most career pass attempts (8,758), and most career games with at least three touchdowns (63). As many citizens of his adopted home state of Wisconsin painfully know, he also has the dubious distinction of having thrown the most interceptions in NFL history–a whopping 288”

He retired last month but the string of honors he is bound to get won’t stop, we think. Recently, Electronic Arts confirmed rumors that Favre will be featured as the cover athlete on Madden NFL 09 for about the 20th time on this hugely popular franchise. He is bound to appear on the DS, Wii, Xbox 360, all versions of the Sony Playstations, including the Portable versions (PSP) of the game. The game won’t be made available to the PC gamers as was announced recently.

It is quite an honor for an athlete, to have an entire series of installments on a single game franchise and Madden is bound to see some good results following the release.

Pipemania Revived!

Posted on Apr 15, 2008 02:26:29 PM

Pipemania – it might say nothing to you. But the game principle is familiar. Various Pipemania clones, with the same type of pipe focused gameplay, have been available for the computer since the DOS days. At any rate, the idea of stress-filled pipe building is so encouraging that Empire Interactive has undertaken it upon themselves to revive the series.

The title, which should come with five different game modes, seven settings, and more than 70 levels, is set to be released for the Wii, PS2, PC and PSP. The only question is whether a reworked version of the old age principle can thrill today’s gamers. Resuscitating Rainbow Island, for example, turned out rather poorly, while the new edition of Final Fantasy was also a letdown. One, not unimportant reason, is that many better games and clones have been released since the time of the originals. The name will help little if the gameplay is outdated. Nevertheless, Pipemania could turn out to be a fun low budget title worth picking up.
