OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast proved skeptics wrong. When the game was announced for the PlayStation Portable, a lot of people believed it could not work on the hand held as well as it did on Microsoft’s Xbox. Coast 2 Coast has proved all the way that it is one of the best arcade racers ever to be played on PSP.

This game developed by Sumo Digital features a lot of interesting options for the avid Outrun fans. It is packed with the online mode, challenge mode, a variety of unlockables and much more. Gameplay is enhanced with the interesting and exciting slipstreaming feature. Here you propel your car past rivals gaining speed as you tail your opponents. Handling of the power-sliding feature by this game is outstanding.

The game itself is a series of exciting challenges that are skill based. There are a host of interesting mini games. Your driving skill is tested in the Flagman challenge. Here you can use the drift challenge or the slipstream challenge or even beat the rivals straight. In the unique Girlfriend challenges, every course is filled with exciting challenges. You are kept on your feet overtaking challenges, smashing into cars and avoiding alien abduction.

Even if you complete a stage it is possible to select from the menu and go back in order to try and achieve the AAA ranking. Coast 2 Coast’s reward system is exciting and worth the effort. For fun or for score, whatever you play for, you accumulate OutRun miles. After you collect sufficient miles in the Outrun 2006: Coast 2 Coast PSP version, you can make use of them in the interesting shops filled with a lot of tempting goodies including extra music, challenges, courses and Ferraris.

An interesting aspect in this game is that unlockables are not really restricted to players who are experienced. The game is addictive enough to make you want to keep playing more. Controls work well and load times are reasonably good. Just Drive mode provides for some quick and thrilling action. The online mode is excellent and it is possible for up to six players to compete. OutRun 2006 – Coast 2 Coast is an interesting arcade racer you can enjoy for hours on your favourite PSP.

Handheld console gamers have been left waiting for a long, long time, for a good star wars action game to hit the shelves. LucasArts has pretty much answered that call with the release of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. This is one of those few games, not hyped up just because of the name and license, but also for the gameplay and graphics. Cool words like Digital Molecular Matter and Naturalmotion’s Euphoria Engine tend to make us curious.

Those may be just for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, but it still hypes up the title on the less capable consoles. And it certainly does live up to that hype. It gives the player immense control over the force, with access to powers like never before. The Star Wars: The Force Unleashed PSP version, interestingly, follows the same storyline of the Xbox 360 and PS3 counterparts, and Krome Studios developed it for the PSP, Wii and PS2, with LucasArts overseeing the production.

The events of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed take place between episode III and IV, or between the old and new trilogies to be more precise. It does an awesome job of bridging the gap in the story line.

Tons of new techniques, like the Force Push, Lightning, Force Grip and the good old Force Repulse can be use to throw off and attack enemies. A whole bunch of new combos can be unlocked as well, by using a combination of these Force techniques. One good point of the game is that Darth Vader’s secret apprentice, the main character of the game, is already quite powerful when you start off with him. The environment is extremely friendly, with tons of useable objects, such as boxes and explosives that you can use against your enemies, and sometimes, you can use your enemies themselves. The auto aim system targets whatever is right in front of you.

The most fun part of the game is how you can use the force powers and combine them to make cool attacks. Oddly enough, the most fun enemies are the most commonly available ones as well – The storm troopers. Using your powers on them is just amazingly fun.

There is a ton to discover, and it’s all so much fun to experiment with your powers in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
